"My name is Jeff Stainsby and I am a fourth year participant in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, in honour of my father who fought cancer and my sister who lost her battle with cancer in 2008."

Jeff has cycled to work for over 20 years, but first applied his passion for cycling to fundraising for cancer research and care in 2011, as he was aware of the great work done at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and wanted to do his part in contributing life saving funds for future cancer patients.

In 2013, Jeff and his high school friend Mark Caiger, both cycled 275KM in a polka dot jersey, with the proud accomplishment of raising over $32,000.

To successfully fundraise, Jeff explains, "Get the word out of what you are trying to do to as many people as possible. Make it clear the scope of what you are undertaking so that people feel like they are contributing in support of your effort and in support of world-class cancer research. If you can make people feel that they have a personal connection to your ride it is amazing the amount of support you can get from unexpected sources."
